Well, Amoebas are unicellular micro-organisms which in plain english means they are so small they cannot usually be seen by the naked eye and are made up of only one cell. In comparison, our human bodies are made up of trillions of cells and can be easily seen - hence why we wear cloths and amoebas do not ;-)
They do not have arms and legs like us humans, instead they stretch out their bodies to move, much like a worm except for amoebas, we call them pseudopods.
Amoebas love fresh water, as opposed to salty water which sends them straight into the afterlife. They are also among an elite group of organisms that can truely claim they have been on this earth longer then any other life form.... in a way they are both incredibly delicate yet immortal.
Amoebas got their name based on the Greek God Proteus Animalcule because of their awesome shapeshifting abilities... in fact, their ability to change shape is what scientists use to identify them in their labs!
Amoebas also don't need to get married to have children, when their biological clock gets too loud, they just clone themselves, that is, if they don't find anybody who strikes their fancy first.
While your favorite food may be pizza and chocolate, for Amoebas, nothing is more appetising then fresh bacteria and other micro-organisms. So next time you drop some food on the floor, instead of throwing it in the garbage, throw it in a fresh water lake or stream and Amoebas will thank you for it ;-)
